The Summer Arts Program
The Summer Arts series is one of DELC’s most popular programs. The
workshops are held weekday mornings in late June through July and are
relaxed and exploratory. Children have the opportunity to be immersed in
specific areas of the arts while at the same time work on the early
childhood tasks of building language development, expanding languages of
self expression and developing positive self images. The 2011Summer Arts
Program begins the week of June 20 and operates from 8:30 to 11:30 or
3:30 Monday through Fridays through July 29th. Spaces are limited, so
look to sign up early. This year we will run a studio based program for
children ages 6 -10 to coincide with the program for the younger 4 & 5
year old group. We will be building languages of art through week long
investigations of various elements and art processes. Additionally we will
once again offer two week long creative writing sessions for children 6 and
older.
Costs for the programs are:
June 20-July 29
$30 for morning summer arts program (8:30-11:30)
$40 for full day program (including art program)
The following are a few guidelines to help the program run smoothly.
1. The hours of the program are 8:30-3:30. Children need to bring a lunch
plus an afternoon snack.
2. Please label everything your child wears or brings to the school.
3. We will spend a good deal of time outdoors - so please put sunscreen
and a hat on your child.
Applications will also be available at the school and need to be completed
before June 1st.
